We have just reduced the asking price for the house to only 115000 Euros. This would be a bargain for someone looking for a beautiful house where all the work has already been done.
Description
Our lovely ski chalet, in the centre of the pretty village of Govedartsi, is now for sale. Having bought it only half built, we have finished it off to a very high standard, making it a wonderful holiday home for anyone looking for something a bit more special. It is situated in amongst the locals in the village, rather than on a new "estate" outside the village. The views from the balcony are superb. It really is a great place to stay in winter or summer, with activities to suit all the family. The chalet is built on two floors, in a style typical of alpine chalets throughout Europe. It has predominantly wooden floors throughout, and sloping wooden ceilings upstairs, adding to its character. The two floors cover a huge 193m2, making the rooms very spacious indeed. The house benefits from oil central heating throughout, as well as double glazed windows and doors. The rear of the property has also been insulated to protect the pipework from the weather. The fireplace ,with woodburning stove, in the large downstairs living room adds to the feeling of warmth and cosiness. The house sits on a large plot of 673m2, most of which is situated in front of the house and provides a lovely place to enjoy the summer months. The boiler and oil storage tank are housed in two outbuildings behind the house, out of view. There is plenty of outside space to be enjoyed in addition to the garden. The downstairs terrace on the ground floor can be accessed from the front bedroom and the dining room, as well as the front door. The first floor balcony can be accessed from the upstairs sitting room, or fifth bedroom, depending on preference. We are selling the house fully furnished, complete with all the soft furnishings, linens, kitchen equipment etc. It is ready to move into straight away. It also has an alarm system.
Location / Vicinity
The village of Govedartsi lies at the foot of the Rila Mountains, near the Cherni Iskar River. It is the starting point for many walking/mountain biking routes into the mountains including the famous Seven Rila Lakes. There is a wealth of natural beauty to admire and enjoy and lovely, easier walks for those not so energetic amongst us.The river provides many beautiful spots to enjoy picnics and relax, perhaps doing a little fishing. 10 minutes drive from Govedartsi, on the way to Borovets, is the town of Samokov. This is a typical Bulgarian town with a wealth of real Bulgarian character. It is also considerably cheaper than the tourist resort of Borovets. It has many shops and a fascinating market is held every Monday morning, even in the freezing cold of winter. It has a brand new, large Billa supermarket stocking everything, which some people may prefer to the smaller shops. Eating out here is incredibly cheap too! Govedartsi is a short drive from Lake Iskar, a large and impressive expanse of water with its beaches and watersports. There is a lovely outdoor swimming pool, with terraces and gardens for sunbathing, just 10 minutes away on the way to the town of Samokov. There is another outdoor pool in Samokov itself, as well as a huge new Sorts Centre. The golfers in your group might like to try the Ihtiman or Dolnya Banya golf courses, also just a short drive away. There are also many natural spas nearby. Although further away, (approx 90 minutes), the Rila Monastery must not be missed. It is Bulgaria's largest and most famous monastery, founded in 927AD and hidden high in the Rila mountains. There is also a monastery in Samokov which is worth a visit as well as the Bulgarian King's Residence which is in Borovets. For those who prefer towns and cities, the old Roman town of Plovdiv offers monuments and ruins from the days of the Roman Empire. Sofia, the Bulgarian capital, is widely regarded as the "new Prague". Steeped in history the city is a mecca for shopping. When visiting in winter, Borovets is obviously the place to head for. It is the oldest and most popular mountain resort in Bulgaria, lying at 1350m. It is set in pine woods and provides a variety of ski runs amongst beautiful scenery. All levels of skiers are catered for and it is particularly good for beginners. The skiing facilities have undergone a lot of improvements lately, with new lifts and runs. This is part of the Super Borovets Project, an enormous investment in the area aiming at an Olympics bid for 2014. The resort of Borovets is very lively and colourful. It has a wealth of restaurants and bars all at bargain prices. It is even cheaper outside Borovets. A holiday in Bulgaria is extremely good value for money. There is an active apres ski scene and some quite unusual "adult" entertainment! Non-skiers are also catered for with bowling, swimming and fitness facilities based in the larger hotels. Local transport includes horse drawn sleighs which adds to the character of Borovets.
